Your Way Transportation
We insulated a new freezer and cooler unit in Worthington, MN, for Your Way Transportation. The building is 80 x 200 with 148 feet of it being the freezer and cooler part at a wall height of 18 feet. The units are split down the middle thus the need for an interior wall. The building has 9 load out docks. We completed this job in 14 days.
The exterior walls consisted of 1" ISO board stock which were fastened to the outside of the 2 x 8 structure. We then sprayed in place 5" of polyurethane foam between the studs and followed that with a wall spray cellulose for the thermal barrier. The General then applied steel to protect the entire wall.
The ceiling also had the 1" of ISO board stock fastened to the 2 x 10 joist to which we sprayed in 5" of polyurethane foam insulation and followed that with a K-13 thermal barrier. Again the General then applied steel to protect the ceiling.
The interior walls were framed up with a 2 x 6 structure with the 1" ISO board stock fastened on one side and then 5" of foam sprayed in the cavity and steel was applied to protect the foam.
This was the first job we have done for this general contractor and all ready we have bid on 2 other jobs for them. This contractor sees the advantages of using the rigid polyurethane foam for his customer's insulation needs.
